It’s an old one I know but trust me – we really need Lerts now.
Mainly the companies I am involved in have a remit to protect the 6 Million SME’s in the UK.
Well that was then ..
Now we have 60% of the workforce working from home. Let’s say that is 60% of around 30 Million . Call it 18 Million ?
It’s ok you might say .. they mainly work for big companies ? Well No because 99.9% of all companies in the UK are SME’s. Also because even when employees worked in corporate citadels those corporates still got hacked.
In the Cyber world we say it is about People, Processes and Technology. The technology that Corporates can afford might extend to their home working employees and might save them but it is not always suitable for home/remote workers or low cost enough and in any event that leaves Processes and People ( and training thereof ) to get right.

All needed and vital … but the UK still needs Lerts.
I sometimes say that people have lost their Animal Instincts ….. we click on stuff we shouldn’t , we engage with people we shouldn’t, we believe emails and social media messages we shouldn’t.
Really .. STAY ALERT .. The UK needs LERTS.
